Shikila Calder
Shikila has been a Research Coordinator with the Clinical Research Department at PHC of Pinellas since July of 2022. But has been with PHC since April of 2022 as a MA working with Dr. Fadi E. Saba, MD. Shikila has had eye for research dating back to 2019 when she previously works as a Clinical Research Coordinator with Cliantha Research, bringing 10+ years of medical and healthcare experience. Shikila is also attending SPC completing her BS in Nursing. She specialized in Laboratory while transitioning into her now career in clinical research. In addition to providing outstanding care to patients who participate in our studies, she firmly believes that clinical research is an integral part of the healthcare field that explores ways to improve treatment methods and overall quality of life for a wide variety of individuals with chronic illnesses.
Melissa Miller, RN
Melissa joined the Clinical Research Department of PHC as a Clinical Research Coordinator in June 2022. Melissa has clinical research experience and has specialized in fields such as Hospital operating room Technician, Patient care Technician and EKG Technician, before she transitioned into her now new career in Clinical Research. Recently Melissa has transitioned in PHC Research New Director in Dec of 2022. Melissa brings years of experience in regulatory and trial management. Melissa has an extensive knowledge of drafting source documents, recruiting, quality assurance, and quality control. She has now completed her Nursing degree marking her place in the Research world. She strongly believes research is key component to the advancement in treatments for a wide variety of diseases and conditions.
Dr. Fadi E. Saba, MD
Dr. Saba is board-certified in Internal Medicine. He has been conducting clinical research for over ten years during which he has been involved with over 30 trials as the Principal Investigator. His experience includes cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome, dyslipidemia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, and pain management among many others. Dr. Saba completed his medical degree at the American School of Beirut in Lebanon. He then went on to complete his residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, a Johns Hopkins affiliate. Dr. Saba later went on to found Professional Heath Care of Pinellas in 1997.
